- Make sure the project is personal to you!!!!! Be passionate about this.
- A clear identifiable research question/new skill to acquire/ Identify what it is you are specifically doing
- Clearly identify what is the purpose of the project. What do you hope to achieve?
- What personal meaning does this project have for you? (i.e. Why did you choose this project specifically?)
- Outline in detail all of the steps required to complete the project
- Create a timeline for completion of major steps of the project
- Identify the outcome of the project:
- How did the project turn out? What happened?
- Reflect on the learning process
- What specifically have you learned by completing this project (skills, information, etc.)
- How will these new skills assist you in the future?
- How does this project relate to any future goals/aspirations etc.
Capstone Presentation
- Make a plan for your presentation:
- Introduction – who are you?, what is your project?, why did you choose this project?
- Project Details – explain in detail how you went about completing your project
- End Result – what was the final outcome?
- Personal Reflection – how did the project go?; as planned or had to adapt and change on the fly? What specifically did you learn from this project? How will this new learning assist you in the future? Where to next?
- Have something tangible or visible to share with the observers / panel (Google Slides, video, artifact of a creation, etc.)
- Make sure you have practised your presentation
- Dress appropriately
- Arrive on time
