Work Experience Placement
Students gain experience in the career field of their choice through a combination of employability skills training and 90 plus hours of work experience. Starting in grade 11 or 12 they develop their employability skills and are encouraged to find a work placement with local employers in un-paid positions that align with their interests, passions, and future career goals. The Career Facilitator will support the students in finding a placement; however, students are encouraged to develop their self-advocacy skills by securing a work placement. The community becomes the classroom where students gain experience at the workplace and will be better prepared to embrace or revise their career goals.
Placements can be in the following areas, but are not restricted to:
